The information I have received states that Percy volunteered for both the Homeguard and Firewatch Service in London during WW2. Unfortunately I have been unable to locate any papers to either confirm or deny this. I do have his bayonet from WW2, that would have required a US Springfield Rifle, and my dad remembers playing with his medals in the back garden when he was a child.
