Percy was born on 10th December 1896 in Holborn, London to Edgar Smith and Elizabeth Warner.

I don't know much about Percy when he was very young, but he enlisted in the RMLI at the start of WW1. Percy was quite a character, often not returning from shore leave without a little persuasion, but was dedicated in battle, to see Percy's WW1 History, please click here.

On 19th October 1918 he married Polly Ann Zillah Long and they had 5 children. Edith Gladys Smith was born on 9 June 1923 and Percy F Smith was born in December 1926. Doreen Rose followed and then Brian. Unfortunately, Brian did not survive infancy. Anthony Smith (my father) was born on 12 May 1940. You can see an extract of my family tree here.
